Friends, Planned Parenthood has sent out an ALERT asking that we make phone calls and send emails to ask legislators to vote against the bill criminalizing people who help teenagers IN ANY WAY who are seeking an abortion.

The vote is taking place this TUESDAY, February 6th so contacting them ASAP is important.
BILL CAPTION?
“Abortion - As introduced, creates the criminal offense of abortion trafficking of a minor; provides for a civil action against a person committing the offense of abortion trafficking of a minor for the wrongful death of an unborn child that was aborted.”
IMPLICATIONS?
Helpers could receive:
3-15 years imprisonment
Up to $10,000 fine

Hi, my name is [XXX]. I’m a constituent living at (XXX ).
I’m calling to ask (LEGISLATOR NAME) to vote NO on House Bill 1895/Senate Bill 1971 because:
it sets a dangerous precedent by criminalizing trusted adults who help the young people in their lives.
it has extreme consequences attached, like:
up to 15 years in prison
up to a $10,000 fine
it is intended to make people too scared to offer support to a young person in need.
it makes pregnant people too scared to seek help from other trusted adults.
it is illegal to ban interstate travel for any reason so if passed, this bill will cost Tennessee taxpayers millions of dollars to defend it in court.
it would end up putting vulnerable Tennessee youth at risk.
So, please vote NO on this bill. Thank you.
